Greetings Everyone.
I would like to share my latest trip to the Western Balkan located in North West Bulgaria, which is part of our border with Serbia. This part of the Balkan Mountain is arguably the wildest and the most untouched part of Bulgarian Nature. There you will be able to find breath taking landscapes, waterfalls, rocks wonders and food beyond believe, but above all a great people who produce a home made food with authentic Bulgarian taste.
My journey started from Sofia by car and using the national traffic network. The trip is pleasant with great views over the mountain and it took me no more than three hours to Guest House Torlacite in Chiprovci. The next morning after great home made food I took upon the mountain peaks just to discover how challenging is the mountain in a positive way. The mountain is dominated by woods, stiff climbs, small rivers, waterfall and phenomenal landscapes. There you can enjoy peace of quite, fresh air and extraordinary views. Given the challenging environment and the wildness of the area I strongly recommend the use of a local guide, who will give you insights of the mountains routes and navigate you on the mountain. The use of a local guide will help you to explore the area and get one unforgettable experience during your stay in the West Balkans. My personal preferences are Midjur Peak, Chiprovski Waterfall, Belogradchik Rocks and Ogosta Dam, where I was able to hike, eat authentic food, enjoy outdoor sport and have a fishing session in one weekend.
Personally this is my favourite place on earth as I am born in the area, so don’t take my words, just go and explore the West Balkan to make your own memories. 🙂
Yours Truly
